The Harwood Museum of Art presents a weekly meditative Jivamukti Yoga program with Jayne Schell on Thursdays from 8:30am - 10am. Open to all levels, yoga mats provided. $8 for Alliance Members at the Individual level and above (These Alliance Members may also purchase a Class Card of 8 classes for $40) or $10 General Admission. We are pleased to announce a summer series of interviews with a variety of Taos based artists. In celebration of the Harwood’s summer exhibition, The Errant Eye: Portraits in a Landscape, these videos provide an intimate portrait of a dozen artists who are living or have lived in Taos, including Larry Bell, Ron Cooper, Mildred Tolbert and Rosa Ellis Clark.

Wolves in music and poetry by Andrea Clearfield and Ariana Kramer

Andrea Clearfield, a composer from Philadelphia, and Ariana Kramer, a Taos poet and writer, are participants in the Aldo and Estella Leopold Residency Program. For their residency, the two planned to collaborate on a project concerning Aldo Leopold’s writings on wolves and contemporary studies on the animals’ effects on ecosystems.
This event is free to the public, seating is limited.

Duo Violão Brasil band (Rogerio Souza and Edinho Gerber), on tour from Rio de Janeiro, will present a special evening of choro featuring compositions of Baden Powell, Pixinguinha, Radames Gnattali, and originals by Rogerio Souza. They will be accompanied by special guests Ami Molinelli (percussion).

Tickets are $15.00 for general and $12 for museum members.

TCMG opens its 25th anniversary season with the American String Quartet featured in an all-American program. Works include Zhou Tian’s Viaje (Journey) for flute and string quartet (with Nancy Laupheimer), Robert Sirota’s American Pilgrimage for string quartet, Barber’s iconic Adagio, and Dvorak’s “American” String Quartet.

Homeschool Art

Homeschool families are invited to a special art program exploring the Harwood's diverse collection and creating art in the Museum's inspiring Fern Hogue Mitchell Education Center. Four sessions are scheduled from 10-11:30am during the 2017-18 school year that correspond with our Art in the Schools curriculum. This program is designed for kids 4 - 12, all ages welcome. Parent participation required.
